Attention and care for refined local raw materials are the basis for the dishes creation. On the a la carte menu you will find especially ground dishes and some dishes with lake fish too that will make you rediscover the taste of traditional food.
The freshness of the ingredients is an element that could be taken for granted, but it is considered very important for the owners of Al GiGianca, who grow most of the vegetables in their own garden. Their main aim is to guarantee sustainability by selecting only natural grass-fed meat and seasonal fish and vegetables.
On the menu you will find some particular kinds of meat, such as the sheep one, that is quite unusual to find in the modern cuisines, but which became a specialty of this restaurant after that the owners of Osteria Al GiGianca had studied the traditional breeding methods used by the famous “Gigante Bergamasca” cattle keepers; you can also find the “Mangalica” pork meat, that has recently obtained a Slow Food presidium. Producers and excellent quality products are the two main ingredients of every dish.
Finally, you can choose one of the nearly 150 wine labels- all from northern Italy, except for the Bourgogne selection and some foreign wines- on the list, or, if you are a beer lover, you can have a high quality home-made beer bottle. And, to end your meal in the best possible way, you can opt for a glass of grappa, spirit or rum.
